Recap: Menendez Falcons vs. Interlachen Rams

The Menendez Falcons entered their tilt with the Interlachen Rams with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Menendez walked away with a 56-46 victory over Interlachen on Thursday. Given Menendez's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while Interlachen is ranked 625th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kemontae Nixon, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Nixon also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Mckinnon, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.

Menendez has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Interlachen, they have fallen quite a ways from their 19-9 record last season and are now at 4-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Menendez will take on Bishop Kenny at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Interlachen won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Crescent City at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Crescent City and Interlachen are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
