Volleyball Recap: Oconomowoc Wins Going Away Against Madison Country Day

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Muskego, Oconomowoc was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Madison Country Day. The Raccoons have beaten Madison Country Day the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Madison Country Day has come to flipping the script.

Oconomowoc's got stronger as the match went on, holding Madison Country Day to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19, 25-15.

Oconomowoc found their leader in sophomore Jake Lechtenberg, who had 11 digs and three assists. Those 11 digs set a new season-high mark for Lechtenberg.

Oconomowoc's win bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Madison Country Day, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Oconomowoc will take on St. Ambrose Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Madison Country Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
