Football Recap: Kaden Mullis and Blake King Secure Win for Mitchell

Mitchell's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 23-20 win over the Perry Central Commodores. Surprisingly, this marked the Bluejackets' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Leading Mitchell to victory were Blake King and Kaden Mullis. King gained 90 total yards and two touchdowns, while Mullis gained 114 total yards and a touchdown. What's more, King racked up 69 receiving yards, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

Mitchell didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of King and Sven Lutchka.

Mitchell's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Perry Central, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Mitchell will head out to take on Linton-Stockton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Perry Central, they will be playing at home against North Daviess at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' defense has only allowed 10.6 points per game this season, so the Commodores' offense will have their work cut out for them.
