Preview: Christ Covenant Spartan vs. Trinity Christian Tigers
Christ Covenant is 8-2 against Trinity Christian since November of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Christ Covenant Spartan will get right back to it and host the Trinity Christian Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. Christ Covenant will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Christ Covenant can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent game on Monday. They blew past New Bern Christian Academy 48-27. Given Christ Covenant's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while New Bern Christian Academy is ranked 257th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Trinity Christian beat Faith Christian Academy 48-44 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Trinity Christian.
Christ Covenant is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season. As for Trinity Christian, they pushed their record up to 14-11 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Christ Covenant strolled past Trinity Christian in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 48-34. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Trinity Christian's Riley Burnham, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Christ Covenant still be able to contain Burnham? There's only one way to find out.
