Baseball Recap: Sealy Triumphs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Sealy walked away with it. They came out on top against the La Grange Leopards by a score of 8-5 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Leopards: they've now won four in a row.

Hagen Anderson made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Anderson was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Alex Gutierrez looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Weston Cryan and Romeo Castillo did most of the damage at the plate: Cryan went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Castillo went 3-for-5 with three runs and one stolen base.

The victory got Sealy back to even at 14-14. As for La Grange, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.

Sealy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Leopards: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
