Basketball Recap: Edgerton Extends Winning Streak to Four

Edgerton lost to Montpelier back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Edgerton Bulldogs came out on top against the Montpelier Locomotives by a score of 57-45. The victory was nothing new for the Bulldogs as they're now sitting on four straight.

Despite the loss, Montpelier had strong showings from Hayden Sharps, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards, and Kenneth Smeltzer, who shot 70% from the field on his way to 15 points. Smeltzer's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was C.J. Fidler, who posted nine points.

Edgerton's win bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Montpelier, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-6.

Edgerton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-37 victory against Edon on the 1st. Montpelier does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
