Basketball Game Preview: Tahquitz Titans vs. San Jacinto Tigers

Tahquitz is 0-10 against San Jacinto since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Tahquitz Titans will venture away from home to take on the San Jacinto Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Tahquitz is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 14th straight game on Wednesday. They were dealt a 71-37 loss at the hands of Elsinore. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1284th, while the Tigers are ranked 439th).

Meanwhile, San Jacinto lost to Laguna Beach on the road by a 59-43 margin last Monday.

Tahquitz will have to contain Josiah Mejia as he made an impact in San Jacinto's last game. He posted 13 points along with five boards and three steals. Mejia has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 18 times he's played. Chris Norman was another key player, putting up ten points.

Tahquitz's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for San Jacinto, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Tahquitz came up short against San Jacinto in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 59-53. Thankfully for Tahquitz, Stephen Castleberry (who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
