            Softball Recap: Genoa-Kingston Cogs vs. Winnebago Indians        
        
		
        
        
            Genoa-Kingston came into this matchup off a tough 15-run  loss on Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Winnebago Indians by a score of  11-9 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  defeat the Cogs have suffered  since April 13, 2024.
 Elizabeth Davis put in work no matter where she played. She  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   four  hits. Davis was even better at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run and three  runs.
 In other batting news,  Brooklynn Ordlock was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 2-for-4 with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI. That  double marked the first that  she has  hit this season.  Olivia Vasak was another key player,  going 1-for-4 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI.
Genoa-Kingston is  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 10-18-1. As for Winnebago, they now  have a winning record of 14-13.
 Looking ahead, Genoa-Kingston will square off against Stillman Valley at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Winnebago, they will challenge Dakota at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Dakota will roll in looking for their  ninth straight  win, something Winnebago surely won't give up without a fight.
