Volleyball Recap: Chicago Washington Comes Up Short

Chicago Washington lost against Whiting back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Patriots fell just short of the Oilers by a score of 2-1.

Chicago Washington actually scored more points across those three sets (71-70), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-22, 19-25, 26-24.

Leading Whiting to victory were Andrea Cabrales and Sophia Perez. Cabrales had ten digs and two aces, while Perez had 16 digs. Those 16 digs gave Perez a new career-high.

Chicago Washington's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Whiting, their record is now 4-1.

Coming up, Chicago Washington will take on Thornton Fractional North at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Whiting, they will be playing at home against Illiana Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Oilers surely won't give up without a fight.
