Basketball Recap: Collin Abston's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rockwood over Oliver Springs

Rockwood lost against Oliver Springs back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Rockwood Tigers fell 55-45 to the Oliver Springs Bobcats.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Collin Abston, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Abston a new career-high in boards. Laken Jolly was another key player, going 5 of 6 en route to 14 points.

It was another big night for Ethan Jones, who went 10 for 18 on his way to 24 points along with five assists and four steals for Oliver Springs. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Johnson, who posted 12 points.

Rockwood has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Oliver Springs, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Rockwood has already played their next game, a 42-41 defeat against Sunbright on the 21st. As for Oliver Springs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 87-50 loss against Anderson County on the 20th.
