Baseball Recap: Wharton Comes Up Short

Wharton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Victoria Cobra HomeSchool Cobra. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by just one run.

Vitcor Perez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-2. That run was his first of the season. Layden Wynn was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Wharton's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Victoria Cobra HomeSchool, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Wharton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-1 defeat against Rice Consolidated on the 7th. As for Victoria Cobra HomeSchool, they will challenge Van Vleck at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
