Softball Game Preview: Plainfield Panthers vs. Windham Whippets

The Plainfield Panthers will square off against the Windham Whippets at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Plainfield has given up an average of 9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Plainfield's last matchup with Ledyard could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Monday. The Panthers lost 16-0 to the Colonels. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Colonels: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Windham came up short against Lyman Memorial on Wednesday and fell 15-11.

Plainfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Windham, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Everything went Plainfield's way against Windham when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Plainfield made off with a 20-7 win. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Whippets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
