Northwest typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Piketon proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Mohawks. The win continues a trend for the Redstreaks in their matchups with the Mohawks: they've now won seven in a row.

Piketon's victory bumped their record up to 8-14-1. As for Northwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-6.

Piketon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-0 loss against South Webster on the 24th. As for Northwest, they will challenge Portsmouth at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mohawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
