Baseball Recap: Upper Dublin Comes Up Short

Upper Dublin extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 1-3. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Colonials this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 on Friday.

As for Plymouth Whitemarsh, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games.

For Plymouth Whitemarsh's part, Max Eagland was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. What's more, Eagland posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other pitching news, Nate Quirus looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

Back at the plate, Brody Stump and Mason Eagland did most of the damage at the plate: Stump went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Eagland went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that Eagland has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Dominic Criscuolo, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

While Upper Dublin had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
