Basketball Recap: Gainesville Now 10-2 over Last 12 Games

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Gainesville ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past the Potomac Senior Panthers 58-56. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cardinals have posted since December 11, 2024.

Potomac Senior's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Harlem Lyons, who went 6-for-14 on his way to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Yusef Navins, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 13 points.

Gainesville is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Potomac Senior's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 12-1 and their overall record down to 18-6.

As of now, neither Gainesville nor Potomac Senior have any future games scheduled.
