Basketball Game Preview: Centennial Titans vs. Memorial Warriors

Centennial hasn't had much luck against Memorial recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Centennial Titans will host the Memorial Warriors at 7:15 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Centennial escaped with a win against Independence by the margin of a single free throw, 39-38.

Meanwhile, Memorial came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their contest with ease, bagging an 87-49 victory over the Trail Blazers. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Trail Blazers are ranked 687th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Memorial pushed their record up to 22-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.8 points over those games. As for Centennial, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 17-15 record this season.
