Basketball Recap: Mount Dora Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Taejah Bosch and Meralis Garcia

Mount Dora was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 42-27 to the East Ridge Knights. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 563rd, while the Knights are ranked 244th).

Despite the defeat, Mount Dora had strong showings from Meralis Garcia, who posted 12 points, and Taejah Bosch, who scored nine points.

Mount Dora's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for East Ridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Mount Dora will venture away from home to challenge Eustis at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eustis' defense has only allowed 24.6 points per game this season, so Mount Dora's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for East Ridge, they will be playing at home against South Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
