Dalton falls despite strong effort from Eli Burt

After a string of three wins, the Dalton Catamounts's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Calhoun 52-47. Dalton has struggled against Calhoun recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Dalton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Eli Burt. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Burt is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Drew Snyder, who scored ten points along with two blocks.

Leading Calhoun to victory were Emaree Winston and Landon Chattam. Winston dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds, while Chattam scored 20 points along with six rebounds. Winston has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last nine times he's played. Blake Hammett was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.

Dalton's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Calhoun, they pushed their record up to 7-10 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.

Dalton will head out on the road to square off against Hiram at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hiram presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dalton in Georgia (Hiram is ranked 107th, while Dalton is ranked 250th). As for Calhoun, they will be playing at home against Woodland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Woodland is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
