While Sterling's victory against The Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Wildcats 75-73. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aydon Austin, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 assists. Another player making a difference was Adrian Gurerro, who went 7-for-12 en route to 21 points.

Sterling now has a winning record of 2-1. As for The Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Sterling will be home for the holidays to greet Platte Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for The Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Rocky Mountain Prep SMART at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
