Basketball Recap: Holdenville Falls to Wewoka in First Game of Season

Holdenville had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 72-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wewoka Tigers on Tuesday. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

Holdenville's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Memphis Thionnet, who shot 73% from the field to rack up 20 points and seven boards, and R.J. Lowe, who posted 17 points.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holdenville will square off against McLoud at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Wolverines' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Wewoka, they will face off against Silo at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
