Recap: Rangely Panthers vs. Plateau Valley Cowboys

The Rangely Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Plateau Valley at home and fell 82-33. Rangely has struggled against Plateau Valley recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Rangely lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Justin Allred, who scored four points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Clay Allred, who scored 11 points.

Plateau Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jack Vig out in front who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. Vig continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ethan Morse, who scored 17 points along with eight steals.

Rangely's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Plateau Valley, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rangely the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Caprock Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Caprock Academy is ranked 265th, while Rangely is ranked 277th). As for Plateau Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Hayden at 4:00 p.m.
