Basketball Recap: Westside Picks Up 18th Straight Win on the Road

Westside came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 50.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They really took it to the Fountain Inn Fury for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-28 win. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 34 points or more this season.

Westside found their leader in sophomore Tiana Marshall, who went 10 for 17 en route to 25 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marshall has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Asia Clinkscales, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 13 points along with seven assists and five steals.

Westside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Westside's victory was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2. As for Fountain Inn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-6.

Westside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 73-55 win against Military Magnet Academy on the 1st. As for Fountain Inn, they will head out to take on Emerald at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fountain Inn is facing Emerald at the right time seeing as Emerald is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
