Basketball Recap: Spooner Takes a Loss

Spooner lost against Northwestern back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Spooner Rails took an 84-69 bruising from the Northwestern Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Rails can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 391st, while the Tigers are ranked 129th).

Spooner's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Northwestern, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Spooner will head out on the road to square off against Hayward at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Northwestern, they will be playing at home against Barron at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Northwestern comes in on four and Barron on five.
