Basketball Game Preview: Estancia Bears vs. Raton Tigers

The Estancia Bears will head out on the road to challenge the Raton Tigers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Estancia is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Pecos on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Estancia had to suffer through a 56-22 loss at the hands of Pecos. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-11.

Meanwhile, Raton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Santa Rosa and fell 47-12.

Raton's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Estancia, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.

Everything came up roses for Estancia against Raton when the teams last played two weeks ago, as the squad secured a 56-18 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Estancia since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
