Hudsonville faced Lakeshore in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Lancers. Considering the Eagles have won 16 matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Jackson Hammersmith looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Braylon Miller, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Another player making a difference was Kaden Howard, who went 2-for-5 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.

Hudsonville is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-7-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Lakeshore, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hudsonville will welcome Byron Center at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakeshore, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lakeview at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
