Softball Recap: Gregory-Portland Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Gregory-Portland and Rio Grande City squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Gregory-Portland had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Rattlers by a score of 3-2.

Gregory-Portland saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Audrey Diercks, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Gregory-Portland's loss dropped their record down to 20-11. As for Rio Grande City, their victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-4.

Gregory-Portland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rio Grande City, they will take on Mercedes on Saturday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Rattlers surely won't give up without a fight.
