Football Game Preview: Mira Mesa Marauders vs. Valley Center Jaguars + Official Tickets

The Mira Mesa Marauders will challenge the Valley Center Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Mira Mesa is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Rancho Buena Vista 21-19. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Marauders.

Valley Center hadn't beaten Ramona on the road since November 1, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them two weeks ago. The Jaguars had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 29-27.

Mira Mesa better keep an eye on Joeisha Ryan Tirado. He was instrumental in Valley Center's win, rushing for 119 yards and three scores, while also picking up 62 receiving yards. Those 119 rushing yards gave Ryan Tirado a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Braylon Mitchell, who threw for 269 yards and one TD.

Valley Center's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. Ryan Tirado was especially locked on to Ramona's QB and sacked him twice.

Valley Center's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Mira Mesa, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

Mira Mesa came out on top in a nail-biter against Valley Center in their previous meeting back in November of 2018, sneaking past 35-32. Do the Marauders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jaguars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
