Memorial entered their tilt with Cooper on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Cooper Cougars. Given the Mavericks' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Cougars are ranked 395th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Memorial's win bumped their record up to 9-1-1. As for Cooper, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6-1.

Looking ahead, Memorial will take on Legacy on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Legacy has won three straight at home, while Memorial won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Cooper will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wylie at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st.
