Baseball Recap: Geneseo Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Geneseo dropped their record down to 12-16 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell 7-3 to the East Moline United Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-2 on Monday.

As for East Moline United, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 19 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games.

For East Moline United's part, Zach Darras was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Geneseo will venture away from home to take on Morton at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Potters' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Maple Leafs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for East Moline United, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Bloomington Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m.
