Recap: Grafton Bearcats vs. Preston Knights
The Grafton Bearcats were the 62-33 winner over the Preston Knights when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Grafton took a 55-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Preston on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Grafton has scored all season.
Preston's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaden Bachtel led the charge by scoring 12 points along with two steals. Easton Hayes was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Grafton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Preston, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season.
Grafton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Fairmont Senior at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Fairmont Senior will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Preston will take on Philip Barbour at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Philip Barbour focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 two weeks ago.
