Football Recap: Triad Comes Up Short + How To Watch

There was early excitement for Triad after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was Waterloo who ended up claiming the real prize. The Knights fell 21-14 to the Bulldogs. The contest was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but the Knights couldn't quite close it out.

When it comes to explaining why Triad lost, don't look at Jacob Odle. Despite the final result, he rushed for 63 yards and two touchdowns. The Knights are 2-1 when Odle posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. Triad also got a significant boost from John Holloway, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 88 yards.

Triad's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Waterloo, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Triad will face off against Collinsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights are facing the Kahoks at the right time seeing as the Kahoks are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Waterloo, they will challenge Rochelle at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
