Baseball Recap: Valliant Takes a Loss

After flying high against Sequoyah last Saturday, Valliant came back down to earth. The Bulldogs took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Washington Warriors on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 back in March.

Valliant saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landyn Howard, who went 1-for-3 with two runs. Kannon Wall also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Valliant's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 22-16. As for Washington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

While Valliant had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
