Recap: Tyler Knights vs. Valley Lumberjacks
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Williamstown, Tyler was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Valley Lumberjacks a 17-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for Tyler, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Landon Boggs made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (he also didn't allow any walks). Boggs was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-1 with two RBI and a double.
In other batting news, Tyler let Zade Billings and Ethan Clark loose on the outfield. Billings scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Clark went 1-for-2 with a home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brennon Miller, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.
Tyler pushed their record up to 2-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Tyler will take on Wirt County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Valley, they will head out on the road to take on Cameron at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
