St. Bernard's won the last time it faced El Molino, and things went their way on Saturday, too. St. Bernard's took their game against El Molino by a conclusive 40-14 score. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (34) and coasted on those for the win.
St. Bernard's's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 34 points in the first half. El Molino couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 34-0 heading into the break. St. Bernard's were outperformed in the second half 6-14 but had enough in reserve from the first to take the game.
No one had a larger role in the success than senior Will Omey, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 178 yards and 2 touchdowns. This was the first game for both teams, giving St. Bernard's a 1-0 record and starting El Molino off at 0-1.
