Basketball Recap: Apple Valley Extends Winning Streak to Three

Apple Valley waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They snuck past the Breck Mustangs with an 82-77 victory. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Mustangs are ranked 76th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Apple Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Camare Young, who went 9 of 17 on his way to 20 points along with eight boards and five assists. Young's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Trey Parker was another key player, going 8 for 14 en route to 22 points.

Apple Valley's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Breck, they dropped their record down to 4-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Apple Valley has already played their next game (against Prior Lake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Breck has already played their next match, an 82-31 victory against Mounds Park Academy on the 14th.
