Baseball Game Preview: Crest Chargers vs. R-S Central Hilltoppers

The Crest Chargers will be taking part in a tournament against the R-S Central Hilltoppers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crest will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Crest's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over Shelby. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, R-S Central posted their closest win since April 25, 2024 on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Tuscola 2-1. The victory was nothing new for the Hilltoppers as they're now sitting on four straight.

Crest's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for R-S Central, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.

Crest couldn't quite get it done against R-S Central in their previous meeting back in April of 2017 as they fell 5-2. Can the Chargers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
