Basketball Game Preview: Evans Knights vs. Greenbrier Wolfpack

Evans is 2-8 against Greenbrier since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Evans Knights will be playing at home against the Greenbrier Wolfpack at 5:30 p.m. Evans knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Greenbrier likes a good challenge.

Evans will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Lakeside, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Evans enjoyed a cozy 56-40 victory over Lakeside on Saturday. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Panthers are ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Greenbrier sidestepped Lakeside for a 63-60 win.

Evans' victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-2. As for Greenbrier, their win bumped their record up to 7-13.

Evans won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played last Friday, slipping by Greenbrier 57-56. Does Evans have another victory up their sleeve, or will Greenbrier turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
