Volleyball Game Preview: Pierce Bears vs. East Nicolaus Spartans + How To Watch

Pierce hasn't had much luck against East Nicolaus recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bears will venture away from home to take on the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. Pierce will be strutting in after a win while East Nicolaus will be coming in after a loss.

Pierce had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Paradise on Thursday. The Bears were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bobcats.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Pierce was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-7, 25-10.

Meanwhile, East Nicolaus came up short against Colusa on Thursday and fell 3-1.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Colusa scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-23, 17-25, 25-18.

East Nicolaus' loss dropped their record down to 29-5. As for Pierce, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season.

Pierce came out on top in a nail-biter against East Nicolaus in their previous meeting back in September, sneaking past 3-2. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Spartans' Ashlynn Tagala, who had 26 digs and two assists. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Bears still be able to contain Tagala? There's only one way to find out.
