Baseball Recap: Calhoun Gets the Win

Calhoun hadn't done well against Tuloso-Midway recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Sandcrabs came out on top against the Warriors & Cherokees by a score of 6-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sandcrabs.

Ethen Ramirez made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those RBI were his first of the season.

Ramirez wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Avery Svetlik, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave Svetlik a new career-high.

The victory got Calhoun back to even at 3-3-1. As for Tuloso-Midway, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Calhoun will be taking part in a tournament against Yoakum at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. As for Tuloso-Midway, they will take on Falfurrias in a tournament on Thursday.
