Softball Recap: Dora Comes Up Short

Dora was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-9 heartbreaker at the hands of Montevallo. Dora was not able to make up for their defeat to Montevallo from their previous meeting back in May of 2021.

Bailey Reid and Kira Vines did some serious damage despite the final result: Reid scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3, while Vines scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Reid a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ada Nix, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3.

Dora's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Montevallo, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Dora will head out to take on Oakman at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Montevallo, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Clay-Chalkville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
