Basketball Recap: Morgantown Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Morgantown Christian Academy was the 37-34 winner over Clay-Battelle when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Morgantown Christian Academy Mustangs took a 44-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clay-Battelle Cee-Bees on Tuesday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Clay-Battelle's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ali Hellyer led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 23 points and nine steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hellyer has scored at least a third of Clay-Battelle's points. Bre DeBolt was another key player, putting up 14 points and four steals.

Morgantown Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Clay-Battelle, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-11 record.

Morgantown Christian Academy has already played their next contest (against Parkersburg Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Clay-Battelle didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 40-31 victory against Bridgeport on the 6th.
