Escondido Charter has gone a perfect 6-0 against Coastal Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Stingrays at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Escondido Charter 2.1, Coastal Academy 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Escondido Charter is returning to their home field after beating Tri-City Christian on theirs, despite the fact Tri-City Christian has dominated at home this season. The Tigers came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 5-1 two weeks ago. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Lilly Harper spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Rose Gomez, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Selena Salas was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, Coastal Academy earned a 7-3 win over San Dieguito Academy on Wednesday.
Coastal Academy also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Therese Frazer gave up three earned runs on six hits.
At the plate, Cayla Contreras was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Escondido Charter's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Coastal Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Escondido Charter has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Coastal Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Escondido Charter took their victory against Coastal Academy in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 15-9 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Stingrays have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
