Franklin is hoping to do what Mount Royal Academy couldn't on Friday: put an end to Newmarket's winning streak, which now stands at five games. Newmarket blew past Mount Royal Academy 42-22. The Mules have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, everything went Franklin's way against Mascenic Regional on Friday as Franklin made off with a 55-33 victory. The Tornadoes is also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the three matchup they've won by 20+ points or more this season.

Newmarket pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.2 points per game. As for Franklin, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Newmarket was able to grind out a solid win over Franklin in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, winning 51-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Newmarket since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
