Softball Game Preview: Washington County Commanders vs. Frankfort Panthers

The Washington County Commanders will head out to square off against the Frankfort Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Washington County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Washington County made easy work of Thomas Nelson and carried off a 13-2 win. The Commanders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by ten runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Emma Cocanougher, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Lakin Mudd was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Washington County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Frankfort had to endure a 13-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They won by a run and slipped past Berea 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since April 19, 2025.

Frankfort saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Satterly, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Washington County now has a winning record of 15-14. As for Frankfort, their record is now 3-14.
