Softball Game Preview: Olney Trojans vs. Prep Charter Huskies

The Olney Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Prep Charter Huskies at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Olney has given up an average of 17.4 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Olney came up short against Simon Gratz on Friday, falling 29-9.

Meanwhile, Prep Charter strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over Maritime Academy Charter. 18 seems to be a good number for the Huskies as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Prep Charter's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Olney, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Olney might still be hurting after the 23-8 loss they got from Prep Charter in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
