Baseball Game Preview: Tatnall Hornets vs. Wilmington Charter Force

Tatnall is 0-6 against Wilmington Charter since April of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Hornets will host the Force at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Tatnall is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Delcastle Technical with a sharp 13-3 victory on Saturday. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Jacob Glazier made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Tatnall is 2-1 when Glazier allows one or fewer hits, but 3-10-1 otherwise. Glazier was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs.

In other batting news, Jonathan Veghte was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Tatnall's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-0-1 (and 2-11 when he doesn't). Ellis Jarrett was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Tatnall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Wilmington Charter came into Monday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over MOT Charter on Monday.

Tatnall's win bumped their record up to 5-11-1. As for Wilmington Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 4-14.
