Sycamore waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Aurora Central Catholic Chargers, posting a 76-41 win. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Chargers are ranked 667th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sycamore is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Aurora Central Catholic, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Sycamore and Payton College Prep will round out the year against one another at at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Aurora Central Catholic, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Nazareth Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
