Softball Recap: Cleveland Comes Up Short

After flying high against Valley last Wednesday, Cleveland came back down to earth. Cleveland came up short against the Sandia Matadors on Thursday, falling 11-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Storm of the 16-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Cleveland has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. The victory (which was Sandia's fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-3.

Cleveland has already played their next game, a 14-4 defeat against Albuquerque on the 21st. As for Sandia, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-4 loss against Cibola on the 21st.
