Softball Recap: Manteca Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Manteca can now relate to. They fell just short of the Central Catholic Raiders by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Buffaloes in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost four in a row.

Riley Ward was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

Manteca's defeat dropped their record down to 21-9. As for Central Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 21 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season.

Manteca does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central Catholic, they will take on Vanden on Saturday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their 17th straight win, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight.
