Football Recap: Evangel Christian Comes Up Short on the Road Against Arendell Parrott Academy

Evangel Christian had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Arendell Parrott Academy Patriots by a score of 26-24 on Saturday. The matchup was a 12-12 toss-up at halftime, but the Lightning couldn't quite close it out.

When it comes to explaining why Evangel Christian lost, don't look at Eli Black. Despite the final result, he rushed for 139 yards and three scores while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 156 yards and one touchdown. Black also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making 11 total tackles (2.5 for loss). Evangel Christian's leading receiver Ben Davis was Black's top target yet again, picking up 141 receiving yards.

Christopher Stimson had an outrageously good game for Arendell Parrott Academy as he threw for 219 yards and four TDs on only 19 passes. That's the most passing yards Stimson has posted since back in August of 2024.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Evangel Christian will face off against CSTHEA at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Arendell Parrott Academy, they will challenge Maryland School for the Deaf at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
